  1. Great video Jeff, Cant go wrong with the basics! I have a quick question on Max-OT cardio, I am at the phase of my prep where I am doing cardio 2x per day. I do the morning session at my house but recently our recumbent bike broke so I was wondering if there was a way I could go to the local track and do running for 16 minutes and try and beat my distance each time or use a heart rate monitor. What would you recommend as I don’t want to end up overtraining my legs by doing this and I want to maintain as much size in my legs as I can! Thank You!

    • I think it would be OK to use the track as a method of Max-OT cardio. As long as the net effect of the 16 minutes is that you are out of your comfort zone, I think any mode could be effective. I would set distance goals and try to beat them as a way to measure.

Hi Jeff thank you for the video.
About squats, do you recommend having your heels down through the whole movement and driving the weight through the heels ?
Again thank you for your great tips.
When i’m feeling lazy or not inspired, i read your articles or watch your videos and it always gets me going 🙂
    Thank you for your inspiration

    • Thanks for the great feedback! Glad you find the information helpful!

I think you want your feet flat but I don’t know that I necessarily concentrate on driving through my heels. I think if you have a strong base with a comfortable and natural stance width, that will happen naturally.

Hi Jeff thank you for your tips.what is the best exercise for calves ? and abs ?

  5. Hi jeff, quick question about the over head shoulder press. Is it necessary to bring the bar that low on the downward phase of the movement? I find going too low encourages pain in my shoulder joint.

    • I wouldn’t say it’s necessary. I always like the feel of bringing the bar below my chin but I think it can be effective still with less depth.
